Cyber police have exposed an organized group that manufactured and sold fake driver's licenses. Defendants on the Internet accepted applications for the production of European-style driver's licenses.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is indicated that customers without passing the relevant exams for 43 thousand hryvnia received a fake document. The annual income of the group members reached about 20 million hryvnia.
Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 3 of Art. 190 (fraud), part 1 of Art. 358 (forgery of documents, seals, stamps and letterheads, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal Code.
"The cyber police found that a 29-year-old resident of Kiev had organized an illegal business. The man created and administered websites where applications for the production of European-style driver's licenses were accepted. The person involved also established a call center, in which he attracted about 20 workers," indicated in the message.
The operators contacted customers and assured those that they would supposedly study in one of the driving schools in Poland. And for the "guaranteed" receipt of a driver's license for a state exam, an employee of the company had to go to the service center instead of the client.
"The defendants, using fake seals, illegally produced certificates. Then the fake document was sent to customers by mail, and the cybercriminals received money to bank accounts opened for dummies," the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs.
At the places of residence of the defendants, as well as in the call-center, law enforcement officers conducted searches and seized computer equipment, mobile phones, bank cards, "draft" records, stamps, seals and directly certificates of the European standard.
The issue of announcing suspicion to the group members and choosing a preventive measure is being resolved. Investigative actions continue.
Recall that at the end of last year, the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs transferred even more services online. Now in this mode you can check cars, documents and pass the test for knowledge of traffic rules.
Also, RBC-Ukraine wrote that Ukraine launched an online driver's license check, which allows you to check the license issued after 2013.
