Requirements:
Receipt - Get this from Ebay/Craigslist; say you want proof of Purchase from any seller
A picture of the macbook box with the serial number showing
Make sure the macbook is still sealed and has never been opened.
A new email address and a Google voice number or something you can answer
Now that we have all of these things we are going to give apple a call. First step of this is pretty basic just say its not turning
on at all and would like to have your device sent in for repair. You will be given two options,
1) advanced replacement (Apple will offer to send you the macbook as long as they can hold the amount of the Mac off your credit card until you send it back (this is where you just say the Mac they sent you was empty with no computer. Then they refund your money and you can keep the mac)
2) Box method. Now this is pretty simple they just send you a box, open it all up and empty everything out. Use the tape that comes in the box to seal up your empty box. Now cut that tape back open and use a different tape to tape over it. That way FedEx and apple think someone re sealed it during shipping.
3) In 2 days apply will notify you of the empty box and will let you know they are investigating it and will have results in 5 days.
4) Apple will request a proof of purchase around the 3rd day so just send them the receipt and the back of macbook box off craigslist to them to be safe.
5) OK the fifth day of the investigation apple will let you know they are replacing the Mac (its protocol and they have to due to their policys ).
6) they'll send the macbook to you.
It must be a sealed macbook because if it isn't apple will call the previous owner asking if they sold their macbook.
